Yes, you can easily measure it if you have a good one to compare to. I agree somebody with a good one should do that and post the measurements. I've just never seen a good 6 volt gauge myself. They are rare. I agree it would be an easy thing to rewind for somebody who had the right wire and specs and was set up to do it. I just meant that on a DIY basis, not knowing what you're shooting for in terms of resistance, you'd be unlikely to get it right.
