It's just that I am no longer comfortable riding in a vehicle without seat belts, especially one with a steel shaft pointed at my chest.

If Prius' were unsafe as FFPW's (one of the top selling vehicles in California) we'd be picking up people left and right.

From what I can tell of the people talking about modifying their FFPW's, "defiling" them is the least of their concerns.
