I'm with you Steve, I haven't used feeler gauges to set points since 1980 :)
Some inventions are just a better mouse trap...I mean it's like chopsticks ...I'm not sure why the Chinese don't just admit that the knife & fork are a better mouse trap than the chop sticks & call it a day :):)
Now a day you can buy a dwell meter for about the price of a descent set of feeler gauges & then you can know they're set properly & not be burning points that are set wrong. I mean even having them out by .001"...she'll run fine, they just will wear out faster.
