The same thing can be said for brake hoses Mike, of course Wagner or Raybestos will tell you it's essential to replace them every 6 years...the truth is that in all likelihood they will last 100 years. I'm driving around in a 64 Fargo W300 today with original tires & brake hoses & it drives like a dream.
If the vehicle was a Bugatti Veyron, I'd think about updating them but since I could stop safely with this old farm truck even if I had all 6 tires pop simultaneously, I'm just not going to lose a seconds sleep over it. Actually I paid extra to get it this way :)
