I don't know why, but in those old National Geographics, the explorers are always using Land Rovers, never Dodges. The only mention I've ever seen of a Dodge was in a story about driving across the Sahara, where they got hopelessly stuck in the sand and a Dodge Powerwagon (belonging to an oil company?) came by and pulled them out.
