Hi Jim,

What year is your truck?

Does the carb have square top with a four-bolt air horn and a flat top float chamber? If so, it is likely an ET1, ET2, ET4, E7F1 or E7S1 and should have an integral governor with the throttle body. The very early versions had an integral metal fuel filter. The fuel enters at a 90 degree angle to the float chamber and the float pin is not accessed from the outside. The later versions had a separate Carter glass fuel bowl with ceramic filter, both of which may be missing. None of these have the mechanical accelerator pump with external rod that can be seasonally adjusted by inserting the rod in one of three holes. Pumping the pedal before starting the truck will not deliver any fuel since there is no vacuum.

Or, does the carb have a round top and a vertical plate (razorback) on top of the float chamber? If so, it is likely an E7T1 or E7T2. The E7T2 has the seasonally adjustable accelerator pump. Pumping the pedal gives you a squirt of fuel even if the truck is not running.

I'm no expert, but we can help you figure out what you have and maybe get the right kit. Check out Clint Dixon's web page at T137.com for pictures and model years. etc.
