No. Doubt we ever hit 55. Not even downhill with the wind and the crash-box screaming at us. Speedometer doesn't work, but I would say 45-50 at best. (Even clogging traffic in sometowns we got lots of thumbs-ups and waves!) It was a long trip, and I only did it 'cause I'm lucky to be pretty dang close to Fairfield and the Rally, or I'd have trailered it (as I have since that year). And we were in NO rush to get there.
As I always say: It was an experience. (Not a 'bad' experience or a 'good' experience, just an experience.)
