No, they do not come apart easy. I found a NOS military for my truck and it was extremely tough to get apart. No reust anywhere and all the screws came out easy. Militarys do have twice the length on the metal connector but it was TIGHT. The BOTTOM is by FAR the hardest to find so don't mess that up.
