I wanted to believe that it was a Diamond T, but I don't think it is. I'm not sure what a 40 model T looks like? I would have guessed it would be similar to this post-war model.

The photo record shows that Diamond Ts were hauling tires and tools for Salt Flats speed trials, but the race car itself was hauled by something else.
