Would definitely allow for more room to mount everything, though the cowl vent could be an issue.
Have to see if you could find wiper arms that will bend far enough below vertical. They will usually spring away from the windshield a decent distance (the new ones will "stand up"), but most only go an inch or two below horizontal.
On the plus side since it's unlikely you'd be using them with the windshield open they wouldn't have to be designed to operate with the windshield open, which could make things tougher.
