I ran some thru my diswasher one time, they turned out great!!
The hot water and detergent do the trick, but don't let your wife find out. Run an "evidence destroying" blank load immediately after.
I knew a guy that kept an old dishwasher in his garage, only for parts cleaning. He was smart, it worked great!!
