Do you have power from coil to distributor? Power to coil?
Has the truck been sitting for a long period? If yes, try cleaning and resetting the points.
I was trying to start a truck a while back that ahd been sitting for some time and had no power fron the coil to the distributor. Robbed a coil out of another truck and she fired right off.
Start with the simple stuff, it's probably something very basic.
