Just for grins after I made the post regarding the paint I went out to the garage and rubbed on one of the lug nuts I had painted. To my surprise I had a little silver residue on my thumb. I read the label on the can and it says that until this paint reachs 300 degrees it remains relatively soft.
So, I have a cookie pan loaded with lug nuts baking at 300 degrees as I write this. To late for the lock rings, they are already on the rims with new tires. Luckily I put it on the lock rings over another coat of regular POR-15.
