Anthony's last post concerned the possible installation of lockers in his '78 PW. If he had indeed installed a locker in the rear differential, the power of the 440 V-8 could have caused the truck to skid, even on dry pavement because both rear tires could have been spinning together. Lockers will definately change the driving characteristics of a vehicle. Since installing lockers in my old Scout, I have noticed that driving on loose gravel and on ice is very tricky. Any turns on this stuff, or any tire spin, will cause the rear to try to pass the front very quickly. For the old Power Wagons with original flathead six's, this should be a very minor problem, but add lots of horsepower and you get some bad reactions from the combination.
