Welcome to MO the hardest state to get a lost title in. I have already been through this and I would recommend using one of the title companies in Hemmings. In MO their are only two ways to get a tilte. 1) If you know a good lawyer than you can go through pobate court($400-1000). 2) You can have a Hiway Patrol inspection and they will assign a new VIN($100, but a major pain and the VIN on the title is not accurate). This is risky though because if they suspect any theft in the prior vehical history they will confiscate the vehicle. Your best bet, as stated earlier is to send $125 and a notorized bill of sale to one of the companies in Alabama or wherever and they will send you a Al title, you transfer it to MO and there you go.
