I just bought my first old PowerWagon, a 55.
I have a 99 Cummins Ram and love it. I've horse'd it up a bit and call it my mid life crisis toy! :)
As to strength, a local friend has moved away from the Dodges as he chooses to overload all his rigs and can get a stronger frame in the Fords. (read that, a Dodge only goes to 1ton but the Fords keep going in size)
