initial tappet clearance

I am just completing the final assembly on a rebuild of my 230.New .030 pistons,rings,bearings,some new guides and several new seats etc.I have set the initial tappet clearance at .014 in/.018 exh prior to the first start up. I read in a service manual that the hot clearance should be .010 int/.014 exh.Any comments or suggestions?
