When the construction of the Alaska highway was drawing to a close workers were ordered to park their tractors and trucks on frozen lakes and " spring would handle the clean-up".
It hads been decided that it was cheaper to dump the equipment than to transport it south.
I have spent three years working on the Alaska highway , If you ever travel north to Alaska stop in at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery ( Dawson Creek British Columbia) they have a exibit of photos that document the constrution and the equipment used .I don't remember seeing any Power Wagonn's in the photos but that was before the bug bit.
