I don't think you can go wrong with the 80/ 90W gear lube. Some folks tend to go to a lighter weight/viscosity to reduce drag, but this will dramatically increase the "drip rate". Besides, I honestly don't feel as though these old rigs would gain in gas mileage. Perhaps on a cold day and coasting down hill. Better yet you could get someone to push the truck up the hills and then coast. Your local constabulary might frown on this activity, but the environmentalists would be tickled to death.
