Hey Adrian,
My 68 D300 was originally a /6 4spd.
ln the early 80's, l installed the first of two 318's. l lucked out, found a 71 adventurer. lt had everything l needed to do the job. The one problem l had was the truck was an automatic. the crank was drilled for a pilot shaft, but was not drilled to the exact OD of the bushing. l had the local shop turn down and install a bushing for me.
The /6 and the small block share the same bell from 61 to 68. You will see the V8 Bolt pattern on your bell. Motor mount brackets are the same, 68 and up, as long as the top stud on the rubber is 1/2''thead(3/4'' Wrench. 71 and up, the aluminum water pump
has it's lower hose on the passenger side.
lf l remember, the /6 is the same. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT use any 360,400,74&up440.
These motors are externally balanced. You would need to weld weights on your flywheel to balance these motors. l have 000 faith in this system. With my /6 4spd 410 dana70 l was getting 10 mpg, with my 318 4 spd 410
l was getting 10 mpg. It left me wondering why Dodge used that motor to start with.
lf you have any problems with your swap,
email me,l will be glad to help. l might have a set of 318 motor brackets in my stash of parts, 20 bucks & ups will get you goin'
