It will ALWAYS ride and drive like a dump truck, unless you change the entire chassis and drivetrain, then install a collapseable steering column with floating "shoe joint" and get the cab to mount via bushings. The reason they ride like tanks and go like a tractor is because they're built like tanks and can be used like a tractor. I'll admit I screwed up by throwing thousands into the V-8, power steering, brakes, discs, tranny and other stuff swap. I should have fixed the problems, and used the truck as it was designed, period. I'm stubborn, and I didn't listen to reason. I love my '50, but it will never be a true, 100% daily driver. The two-mile trip to work and back? Sure. Will I ever take it on an interstate? Absolutely not. Tough as nails? You bet. A modern 4x4, it just isn't. A Cummins would've been perfect. Now, a D150 is my driver, and my '50 is in the shop, not anywhere close to being finished. It's been done by others, to the best it COULD be. Legacy Power Wagons charges $150,000 to do it, and that's neither here nor there. Whatever you do, see it through. Too many of these trucks no longer exist because someone had a bright idea to "make the best better". These guys know what they're talking about, because many of them have owned their trucks for 20, 30 years. I was a newbie with a bright idea a few years ago, and can say now that I would've been FAR better off listening to them.
