Not everything was spelled out in a Parts List, Service Manual, Shop Manual, Technical Manual, Service Bulletin, Service Wall Chart, Sales Manual, Salesman's Data Book, Flat Rate Book, or a Service Reference Book. Common sense still prevailed in the 1940's and not all mechanics blindly applied what they had read in a piece of literature. If the drums looked like they were too thin, they were probably too thin. If the shoes had to be arched clear down to the rivets to fit properly, the drums were too thin.
