Electric winch question

My winch is a long way away from the batteries . Think carryall . I ran some 1 -0 gage to the passenger side frame for the ground . The batteries will be grounded to the same frame rail . Warn book says that the ground must go to the battery from the winch .

Anyone here run their winch ground wire to the frame ?

I plan on running multiple ground wires on this vehicle - similiar to what the radio truck had .

Thanks - my brain has reached its capacity for rational thought - i am now outsourcing my common sense .
