I used a split bench out of a 90's extended cab Ranger. I'm 6'5 so head room was tight so I took out the original slated base. If you take the factory brackets off the Ford seats the sliders are flat so 2 pieces of straight box tubing gave me the perfect height. These slit benches have a inset in the w=middle which gives clearance for the shift levers.
Others have used a bench out of a Dakota which has the right width as well. The ones I looked at were pretty plain in design.
