By no means, are we trying to sound negative. Owning one of these amazing trucks is a great privilege. However, these are NOT your typical 4x4. They are far, far more expensive to restore or restomod than, say, a Highboy, Fleetside, whatever. It's not gonna be easy. It's not going to be what you thought it was when you bought it. We ALL know from experience. I thought my '50 would be my weekend cruiser, and daily driver the two miles to work. Ha! That ended after two weeks. I basically had to build an entirely new truck to accomplish that, in the end. It still beats the daylights out of me and can't seat TWO comfortably, let alone three. But, I love my trucks. I couldn't appreciate one better than I do my '50. It makes me smile, every time I look at it, dents, rust and all. By the time it's all said and done, I'll have probably $25-30k in it. I'll never sell it once it's done, and I never complain when I spend money into it. Some things that are sooo easy to do to other trucks take a lot of ingenuity and money to do to ours. But, man, it's worth every bit of it. Pull up your sleeves and dedicate yourself 100% to your truck, or pass it on to one who will. Just don't let it sit, unattended. You've got something uncommon and special- treat it like it is.
