I did compression fracture a back vertebra and break my nose on the wheel when I totaled my '72 F250, no factory harness. Since then, I put harnesses in all my keepers.

Form my 5 wndow mod I made a horizontal 'hoop' from top of door frame, around the back, to the opposite door frame. It's ummm 1 1/4" square tube, .140 wall? The rear was bent with a mallet over 2x4 blocks to suit the gentle curve. The back corners needed to be fabbed out of flat ells welded to umm vertical ells. Four pieces of steel to each ell. Not a radius, oblique curve. Weld in threaded bushings for the 7/16" fine bolts. It won't fit in if complete, you need to make one butt weld in chassis. Three sides welded is good, it will be in compression, if ever...

In the same truck previous to the 5 window mod, I had bent a piece of 14 ga steel to fit from door frame to rear window frame, welded a nut to the back, and welded it in. It fit under the OE style headliner. (I might have saved them, I can weld them into my current project)

Make a good map of the nut locations so you can find them after liner install.

I felt these methods were equivalent to the modern OE trucks. No since making shoulder harnesses so rigid that your head pops off when it hits the slack in the harness.
