That's what I believe happened a lot. As they say, accidents happen and parts could/have been changed for years. Never say never with Dodge either but what is was SUPPOSED to be is pretty well stated earlier by Ernie.
I have a Non stamped, original Date of delivery tag on the bed of one of mine so some things do slip through.
