The diaphram-style fuel pump is cheap and easy to change, but it has been the most failure-prone component on my truck.
I put a piston-style pump on my Ramcharger. I spent big money for the low-pressure version of that pump from Cummins. It cost about three times what a 25 psi pump costs for a '94 Dodge. Everyone on the internet says, the higher pressure will blow internal seals on the pump. My injecdtion pump builder claims that is an old wives tail. I haven't put his claim to the test yet.
