One type is in the drive line and has a declutch on it so when the PW is in 2wd the davey pto will turn but not the rear pumpkin. Another type like Paul posted runs off the center of the transfercase where the parking brake is and there is a declutch on the rear driveshaft, you can see it in one of his pictures. I don't know if the second type is live all the time if the transfer case is turning or not.
