I may well have bought the complete assembly rather than just the fork. I know I also got the part with the brake pad that pushes against the end of the drum, so maybe that made it the complete assembly. I would say I wasn't "completely" satisfied with the quality, but it will do. I know I paid considerably more than $40 for it. Some years ago, Northern Hydraulics was selling a Chinese copy of an MU-2 that looked identical (in the picture) to the real thing. I'm thinking the VPW repro fork assemblies probably came from the same outfit that made the complete winches.
