transmission storage ideas

I have collected numerous transmissions ,transfer-cases and third members. I am looking for ideas to protect the internal components for long term storage . They will be stored inside in a unheated shed . I saw a N.O.S transfer case,it was coated in cosmoline inside and out. Seems like a good idea until you try to clean it out.
