if you mean change the bellhousing, you are correct. the bellhousing has the bolt pattern for the transmission that relates to that year / series. once you swap the bell, the tranny bolts up. you then mix / match floorboard parts to cover it all up. i am using a 1968 l/s floor board in my command car to cover the underfloor master cylinder that i retrofitted to my truck. the whole shebang was a bolt on. looks stock. works great.
