1980 Diesel rabbit, fortunately I was on the highway,74 horse motor was doing 75. I turned key off, didn't shut off, put the clutch in, ran incredibly fast. I let off the clutch, put both feet on the brake pedal, finally stalled it.
Towed it home, got it to start a few days later. It threw white smoke for a while then went back to normal
