This is the last I'll say on the shooting tragedy, but since you mentioned it, when I think of why people do things like this, there's isn't any explanation any better than in the Bible when Adam and Eve got tempted to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Until then, they had only known good. The serpent convinced them they were missing something, and here we are. Evil is in the world and it's not going away. You may or may not believe the bible, but it's as good an explanation as any. Evil exists, but the good people have to win out.
