When first viewing the factory literature the plates looked, to me, more like fish-plates to beef-up the chassis. Your explanation, and a re-visit to the site, cleared up everything. The term 'shock plate' now makes sense, as does the notch at the ends of the side plates. I understand the 'bridging' you did to compensate for lack of the shock plates, and I'm sure for my puposes a similar set-up will be more than adequate.
The only component I'm missing, other than a blade, is the bracket to which the bottom of the lift cylinder connects....an easy fab. I like the way you handled it with the angle iron across the bottom for added rigidity. I still have to track down booster cylinders; beyond re-building, though not really necessary at this time as I doubt I will ever come across a blade the weight of a Good Roads...but I'm looking.
