I think thy have a T shaped slot inside, or two? They get slid on over a pin, then the turning motion keeps them on? That would make them removable. Or is that only on the even rarer double ended system, so the one capstan can be moved to the active side?

Because I think it is a cool feature and I might want to add an extended shaft to mine. Is a short extension done, or do I need an extra cast bracket on thee passenger side?
