Most guys disconnect the antilock brake system on these trucks. When working properly, they won't stop your truck as well as without the antilocks. This was like the very beginning of antilock & it was far from perfected.
If your brakes are working well & they tell you the Antilock module is toast...do not buy a new one. The module is behind the glovebox & if you unplug it, you're antilocs will be deactivated. Just be sure the rest of your brake system is in good repair & you won't have anymore issues.
Thats what I'd do.
