But it is probably because the leather inner hub seals couldn't be trusted to keep 90wt out of the brakes. But worked well enough on grease.
So, ignore the grooves in the outer nut, re-use it regardless, or use front or inner nute there. And run neoprene inner seals. Just like on the $1,000,000 Peterbilts.
