You're joking, but I'm pretty sure on that kind of system, the idiot light is actually a necessary part of the circuit and if you don't have it, the alternator won't work. If memory serves, when you put an idiot-light type alternator on a vehicle without an idiot light, you have to put a resistor in the plug to give the field the needed start-up current.
