I've had one flat in 15 years so I guess we've got the same failure rate. That was a 1956 tire so weather-checked that a chunk fell out of the tread and the tube sort of developed a hernia through the hole. Nonetheless, the tire was so stiff I drove back home on it despite it not having any air in it.
