Long ago I knew a guy in Renton who had an old Brown & Sharpe screw machine. He would bid on odd parts for Boeing. Made a living for himself that way. He didn't do any other machining. At least back then there were a lot of little job shops like that around Seattle whose bread-and-butter business was Boeing. Since then, many are also making parts for Airbus. If you want a small quantity, but more than one, that would be the kind of shop to look for. A guy who only makes precision screw machine parts is going to be able to set up for something like your nut real easy, and might be happy to squeeze it in in between big orders. It would probably take some legwork to track down the right shop because they don't really advertise, but once you got on the track, the guys in the other job shops would start pointing you in the right direction.
