Boat engines have a thermostat to regualte engine temperature just like automotive applications. The diesel do not have lakewater in the block, but use coolant and a liquid heat exchanger instead of a radiator.
His C series engines are set up just like the B motors I am building. You can see the heat exchanger in my video of the 6b running on a stand. We have a garden hose hooke\d up the heat exchanger where the lakewater would go.
