I don't understand a word of the narration, but the method of putting on the tire chains, about half way through the first video, was pretty interesting. It looks like it's definitely a two-man operation, and maybe a little dangerous for the man feeding the chains around the moving tire, but still clever and worth trying perhaps, especially if the vehicle is stuck and the tires are spinning. It seems like it should work even if well bogged down.
I noticed that the only time they needed to use the winch just happened to be the only time in any of the pictures where there happened to be a big tree nearby.
