That sounds like a great idea-
Especially the plastic "wrap"!
I use moth balls in the upholstery too.
However, as to the De-con, if the mice eat the De-con and then one of your pets eat that mouse, the pet can be poisoned.
Also if little toddlers pick up the D-con pellets and chew on them...not good.
