I too believe in mechanical fuel pumps and the almighty Dodge God. I ran 5/16ths steel line and haven't had an issue yet with the line.
On the same topic about fuel pumps, I used a kit from the Fordson house to replace the diaphram.
24527-DAX Basic pump kit for the Farmall F-12 retails for $28 and most of the parts are used. The only one that didn't work is the pump to block gasket that wasn't the correct size because the Dodge block had a larger round hole in it than the Farmall, so I made that gasket.
