Nick, my 48 PW has the screws. I know my tank is the original one. Perhaps you have a newer tank, I don't know for sure. I need the two wire sending unit with the screw holes cause I do the same thing, I am always guessing so I keep 5 gallons with me all the time. Let me know how it turns out for you.
