In Viet Nam the first unit I was with needed an ambulance when it first formed up here in the states and all that was available were 725's made by Jeep . Brand new M-37's were available as were 715's,but no M-43's . So Uncle Sam called around and found some WC-54's and ran them through a depot and sent them to Viet Nam . Even though they were getting old they were more reliable than a brand new 725 ambulance .I don't know when the US Army stopped buying M-37's , but I've driven a 1968 model and it's almost identical to my 53.
