There is a fellow in the Colorado Rockies, somewhere between Alamosa and Durango, if memories serves, that did just what you're takin' about, except with a Federal. The trick was in the front fenders and hood. He shortened the hood and worked in fenders from a Dodge VC. I think if want to keep the high tech chasis, you could hide that long engine by lengthening the hood, or adding on to the engine side of the Rad. cowel. Go for it!
