What I do is put the cylinder in a vise, fill with fluid, put my finger over the outlet, insert a rod into the piston and pump. I block the outlet hole when I release the piston and allow fluid out when I pump.
This primes or "pre-bleeds" the cylinder.
You will still have to bleed after installation but now you will have a working master cylinder. The problem is that when the master cylinder is completely full of air, it just doesn't pump and you never get the thing bled.
I don't think you can be in the W500 club without going through this. I did it last summer.
