does anyone know the significance of the # of bolts/studs securing the axle flange to the drum assy. on a dana 60 full floater rear axle? my 74 dodge W200 has 8 studs,ive seen other dana 60 with 8 bolts,6 bolts,6 studs ,etc. does this have to do with axle load rating? i am talking about axle flange fasteners BTW,not lug nuts...ive seen these variations on 8 lug axles,the big 6 lug 50's- 60's IH's had variations as well. also the brake drum and axle flange on this truck are stamped Budd, if this is important.
